Graduation Requirements

Students must successfully complete a total of 36 units (either through Empowering Excellence Charter School or through a combination of transferred credits from an accredited institution and EECS credits) in the following areas to receive a EECS Advanced accredited high school diploma and career certificate:


EECS Traditional Diploma (36 Credits Total)

EECS Advanced Diploma (44 Credits Needed)

  • Math (6 credits)
  • Science (6 credits)
  • Health Credit (1 credit)
  • Physical Education (2 Credits)
  • Career Certificate Courses (available)
  • CPR
  • Foreign Language (4 credits)
  • Elective Credits (11 credits)
  • English (8 credits)
  • Social Studies (6 credits)
  • Math (6 credits)
  • Science (6 credits)
  • Health Credit (1 credit)
  • Physical Education (2 credits)
  • Career Certificate Courses (available)
  • CPR
  • Elective Credits (7 credits)

Up to 14 credits may be transferred by students from other educational institutions. Students only need to take the courses that their transferred credits do not fulfill.


Once enrolled in the high school diploma program are given a maximum of 18 months to fulfill all requirements in order to graduate. However, it is worth noting that there are students who may manage to finish the program in a significantly shorter period, typically within 3 to 4 months. This expedited completion time is largely dependent on the number of courses the student needs to complete in order to earn their diploma and their dedication to their schoolwork.
